A Historic Partnership for Florida's Children

In June 2026, the Bridegan Foundation and Walmart announced a historic statewide initiative to place Bexley Boxes in 245 law enforcement agencies across Florida, covering all 67 counties.

What began as a pledge of over $110,000 grew into a commitment of nearly $205,000, more than doubling Walmart's original pledge. 126 Walmart Supercenters across the state are helping source and deliver the boxes directly to agencies in their communities.

"What began as a mother's effort to protect other children from the trauma her own daughter endured has now grown into a statewide safety net." — Kirsten Bridegan, Founder

Why This Matters

When a child is brought to a police station because a parent has been arrested, injured, or killed, officers are often unprepared to meet that child's basic needs. There are no diapers. No snacks. No comfort items. No familiar toys.

Bexley Box changes that. Named in honor of Bexley Bridegan, who spent hours alone in a police station at just two years old after witnessing the murder of her father Jared, each box is stocked with age-appropriate essentials so that every officer in Florida has what they need to comfort a child in the worst moment of that child's life.

What's Inside a Bexley Box

Essential Necessities

Diapers, wipes, snacks, juice boxes, and a water bottle — the basics every child needs, immediately on hand.

Immediate Comfort

A soft blanket and a stuffed animal to help a frightened child feel safe and less alone.

Distraction and Play

Crayons, a coloring book, and age-appropriate activity items to help calm and occupy a child in distress.

The Florida rollout is underway, with Bexley Boxes reaching all 246 law enforcement agencies by the end of June. Your support keeps the boxes stocked so they are always ready for the next child who needs one.
